Work to begin on third phase of Hertfordshire development

Work to develop the third and final phase of the Linden Homes development at Meridian Gate in Royston is about to get underway, providing an additional 148 homes for the area, including 45 set aside as affordable homes for rent or shared ownership.

In addition, the development – located off Newmarket Road – will also include a new care home.

Developer Linden Homes, which is part of the Vistry Group, began work on the project in October 2018, with phase one delivering 83 new homes followed by phase two which brought another 108.

All the phase one properties have now been sold, and by the time the whole 339-home scheme is complete, some 149 new affordable homes will have been provided for the area.

The site recently achieved 100% scores in the Home Builders’ Federation (HBF) Customer Satisfaction Survey for the second consecutive year.

Rob May, Site Manager at Meridian Gate, said: “The Assistant Site Manager Mark Turner and I have been on this site from day one. What we strive to do every day is to make sure that the house buying experience is as perfect as it can be for every customer. To be honest, our job is made easier by the fact that Linden Homes build houses of real character and quality so that always gives us a head start.”

Jason Colmer, Sales and Marketing Director for Linden Homes Eastern, said: “The high demand for new homes in the area and the selection of properties provided at Meridian Gate have generated a lot of interest in the site. The development has been extremely popular with a wide range of buyers seeking a semi-rural location on the edge of the town. To receive a 100% score in the HBF customer satisfaction survey two years in a row is an outstanding achievement, which underlines the commitment of the team onsite and the high quality of the homes that we are delivering. With all properties now sold on phase one at Meridian Gate, we are now looking forward to starting work on the third and final phase and continuing to meet the growing need for new homes in this sought-after location.”

Meridian Gate currently has a selection of three-, four- and five-bedroom homes available, with prices starting from £409,995.
