Savista Developments proposes to build new care home in Sonning

A 72-bed care home on Duffield Road in Sonning is in the offing after Savista Developments exchanged contracts on the two-acre site.

The care home construction specialist is proposing a £20 million project which will provide state-of-the-art living facilities and amenities to residents. The project will draw on the latest technology in the sector and will comprise an array of extensive communal facilities.

The scheme will be planned, designed, built and fitted out by Savista, whose CEO, Kevin Shaw, said: “Demand for new care homes continues to rise and we are very pleased to acquire this site in Sonning to meet the growing demand for specialist care in the area. Our proposed development will provide an exceptional, high-quality place for local people to live; we’ll deliver much-needed care beds to the community as well as modern, communal spaces and specialist facilities.”

In the coming weeks, members of the local community will be invited to provide feedback on the proposals for the development ahead of the planning application being submitted.

Savista is an award-winning construction company based in Essex and has developed a reputation for developing first-class later living care homes and retirement communities. Its care homes are designed by an expert team in dementia care, using new technologies, processes and innovations to meet the needs and expectations of residents and improve lifestyles.

Its existing care homes also include innovations such as night-time monitoring solutions designed to reduce falls and in-night disturbances, and circadian lighting systems which help maintain sleep schedules, especially important for residents living with dementia.

In addition to the Sonning site, Savista is eyeing a number of new projects across the UK and is actively seeking to acquire land to facilitate the development of next generation later living retirement communities.
