Getting into debt is something that no one wants but at times in your life it may be hard to avoid. It’s when that debt spirals out of control that the problems begin. If debt seriously threatens your home and your family life then you must take action; burying your head in the sand won’t make problems go away and is likely to make them a lot worse.
At Property Rescue we understand that facing debt can be very frightening, especially if you are the subject of County Court Judgments or if a Bailiff calls at your home. Property Rescue are used to helping people in these type of situations and they can act to help you too.
The first step is to give them a call to discuss your circumstances. Everything will be done in complete confidence and there is no obligation to proceed if you don’t want to. Property Rescue has a number of options whereby they can help:
Sell Your Home
Although selling up might seem like the last resort, it could give you an opportunity to get on with your life free of debt. Downsizing could free up some money to pay off what you owe and remove the threat of bankruptcy. Property Rescue can step in at the eleventh hour, even if a Repossession Order has been served, and can still rescue the situation. They will make an offer for your home and, if you are happy to go ahead, the sale can be concluded within a few days.
Sell and Rent Back
This option might be perfect for you. Property Rescue will buy your home from you but you don’t have to move out; instead you stay exactly where you are as a tenant. That means that you enjoy all the privileges of your current lifestyle, your children can continue at the same school, your friends and neighbours remain close by, yet your debts can be paid off because your house has been sold. Property Rescue give you a legal tenancy agreement and you can even have the option of buying back your home at an agreed price in the future.
Other Actions
If debt is looming but has not yet reached the stage where your home is threatened there are other actions that you might want to consider. Perhaps the most important is to cut up your credit cards – you should not be extending your credit when you are in this situation. You might also want to look for a part time or evening job to boost your income, but you should certainly make a budget so that you know what expenses you must pay and what can be put on hold. Agencies such as the Citizens Advice Bureau will be pleased to help you manage debt.
