Telecoms giant BT has announced that, from 28 April 2011 call charges will increase by 9% and the monthly standard line rental charge will increase by 30 pence. The cost of UK landline calls will be increased from 7p a minute to 7.6p a minute. Letters will go out to customers informing them of the changes, although people with specific packages will not be subject to the price increases. BT increased its call charges by 10% and its line rental by 50p in October last year. The cost of BT’s Call Minder service will also go up from £2.60 to £3 a month.
