The study found that almost half (45%) of students in their final year at some of the top universities in the UK report that they believe their prospects for careers are “very limited.” Of the 16,000 survey participants, a third were concerned that the previous year’s graduates would fill most available vacancies and one in six reported that, if they had known just how tough the job market would be, they would not have bothered going to university.
